Class Description

All Peace & Poses yoga classes incorporate the 5 elements of the Little Flower Yoga progam: connect, breathe, move, focus and rest. In each 1 hour class, kids will listen to a story and explore yoga poses related to that story/theme . Engaging activities throughout class will reinforce the important skill of mindfulness – noticing what is happening right now.  Yogis will learn fun ways to breathe to feel calm or energized. Class will end with a kid-friendly guided visualization to practice relaxing the body. Classes during this session also include time for working on a fun craft.

Teacher Bio

Ellen L’Italien

Since training to teach yoga and mindfulness through Little Flower Yoga of New York in 2016 (Level I & II), Ellen L’Italien has made it her goal to bring yoga to as many children as she can. She started Peace & Poses so kids can see for themselves the joy in doing yoga.

Ellen has a M.Ed. in Elementary Education and teaches reading to students in grades K-3. Her passion for helping children succeed, as well as her experience in raising her own three children has opened her eyes to the stress that many children are experiencing today, in and out of school. Ellen believes all children deserve to reap the benefits of yoga and mindfulness, as these tools and skills can be used throughout life for strength, focus, self-regulation and confidence.
